Academic and Archival Research Visit to Albania

From 1 to 21 October 2025, project team member Dr. Behar undertook an academic and archival research visit to Albania as part of BILDEV’s project, Muslim Political Ethics and Covenantal Pluralism: Reimagining Equality in the Late Ottoman Experience. The visit focused on identifying sources relevant to the project and strengthening connections with local scholars and institutions.

During the visit, Dr. Behar met with academic staff and institutional representatives to discuss archival resources, research opportunities, and shared academic interests. These meetings helped identify potential materials for the project’s study of late Ottoman political ethics and pluralism, and provided insight into how archival collections were preserved and accessed in Albania.

The visit contributed to the project’s ongoing archival work by mapping relevant research resources and establishing contacts for further scholarly exchange. It also laid the groundwork for future collaboration with researchers and institutions in the region.
